New Beginnings

It’s been a while since I last wrote here, but I have been thinking about it. In March, 2023, I adopted a new dog from a shelter. We also moved to a new location about 200 miles from home for a temporary job, so I have been busy with that and with training Jazmin. I promise to be more diligent about writing about our adventures. In the meantime, meet Jazmin. She is about 1 year old and weighs 20 lbs. Much smaller than my previous Labradors and Lab-mixed dogs. I got her DNA tested and she has no Lab at all in her lineage. First female I have had for a long time, too.

It took me over a year after Beau died, before I felt ready to adopt another dog. It was God’s love and grace, my loving family, and my grand-dog, Cosmo, who helped me through my grief journey. I could not have done it alone. I still miss Beau. It’s the photos of our life together that make me happy and give me joy and peace.

I am an interim/transition pastor for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Besides my work, my passion is training and sharing the love of a therapy dog. Therapy dogs are also known as visitation dogs. They are trained to visit people in hospitals, schools, care centers, etc. Their goal is to brighten people's day.
